On behalf of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, we would like to thank you for your interest in pursuing career opportunities with our community hospital. Our employees take great pride in “caring for our community.” Our staff is fully committed to ensuring the best patient experience for every patient, every time. And we are all committed to one another so we may foster a work environment which makes BMH the best place to work for all employees, physicians and volunteers.
As an organization we are very proud of our many accomplishments. We were the only Vermont hospital to be recognized as one of Solucient’s 2005 Top 100 Hospitals. In the second quarter of 2006, the CMS Quality Improvement Organization announced that BMH had achieved the highest hospital compliance rate, for core measure recommended interventions, within all of Northern New England (Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont). And we are continuing this mission of “building on excellence” with the pending renovation of our ACU/Peri-Op area and the construction of our new Outpatient Building.
CAREER OVERVIEW
For more than one hundred years, BMH has successfully attained these and other milestones. We have always been there for the members of our community, thanks to the efforts of our dedicated staff.
We recognize the important role our employees have in our continued journey of providing community-based healthcare excellence for our second 100 years. The BMH commitment to our employees begins with our focus on their professional training and development. For example, our Education Department provides a broad spectrum of internal didactic offerings, and supplements these programs with presentations by well known healthcare experts. BMH offers the University of Vermont’s RN to BSN program to staff as a means of enhancing our employees’ knowledge base, while improving upon the delivery of patient care.
BMH has invested in leading-edge technology, which not only ensures a better course of patient treatment, but enables our employees to be more effective in performing their jobs. Our Imaging Department uses the PACS filmless system which speeds diagnosis and offers high quality digital imagery. Our Birthing Center provides patients with a fully equipped surgical suite and oversized relaxation tubs for water births.
We provide our employees with a comprehensive compensation and benefit package. Eligible employees may opt for comprehensive health insurance packages and select from single or dependent coverage. Dental, STD/LTD, life insurance, tuition assistance money purchase pension plan and contributory 403b retirement plans are also standard fare for employees who work a minimum of 24 hours/week.
But, it’s the “subtle” things which distinguish BMH from other employers. Non-managerial employees are eligible for non-interest loans to assist them when they encounter an emergency situation. The “Heartfelt” fund was established through employee donations and is intended to provide employees with relief when life’s little crises arise. The “Buzz at BMH” is a series of quarterly meetings in which our CEO, Barry Beeman, and other members of senior staff offer all employees an opportunity to learn the latest news about the hospital’s activities. We even have a 1:00 am session for the night shift!!
It is often the little things that we do for patients which enrich their experience with our hospital. It is the extra mile our employees go that helps to make a difference. And, we as an organization strive to make a difference in our employees’ lives! If this sounds like the type of healthcare organization you would like to be a part of, we encourage you to explore the remainder of our career opportunities. You may apply online for immediate consideration and you can also use our Career-Mail service which will automatically send you an email when new job openings are posted that match your interest.
Again, thank you for considering BMH as your future employer!
