HEALTHIER LIVING WORKSHOPS
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital offers these free (to
Vermont residents) 6-week workshops designed to help
you enjoy a healthier, happier life. Based on the Stanford
University School of Medicine model, these sessions
can help you feel healthier even if you have a chronic
condition, or live with someone who does. Useful tools,
skills, and fun activities to address living with arthritis,
diabetes, hypertension, chronic pain, emphysema, fibromyalgia,
and any other long-term condition will be offered to
help improve your life. Following are things you will
learn:
• Exercises to maintain and improve strength,
flexibility, and endurance
• Using breathing and imagery to manage symptoms
• Tips for healthy eating
• How to talk with family, friends, and health
professionals so you are heard
• How to evaluate new health treatments
• Goal setting and problem-solving tips
