DINING AT BMH IN MAY
On Wednesday, May 7th, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital
will host another Mediterranean Dining: A Healthy Approach
to Living. This is a chance to enjoy delicious, healthy
food at this popular BMH healthy dining event. The low-fat
fare served at these BMH dinners is often based on food
eaten by people living in the Mediterranean area, although
this particular evening’s fare is billed as “A
Taste of Vietnamese Cuisine”.
The menu for the evening will start off with a crispy
vegetable salad with homemade ginger-lime dressing.
The main menu offering is a pan-seared rice noodle dish
with chicken and vegetables, or the vegetarian pan-seared
rice noodle dish with vegetables. These will be accompanied
by sticky rice served with sea vegetable. For dessert,
diners will enjoy a currant cookie and fresh fruit.
All the food is prepared by the Nutrition Services Department
at BMH.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Casey Blust,
the Physical Therapy Assistant in the BMH Cardiac and
Pulmonary Rehab program. He will discuss a heart-healthy
exercise program, including strengthening and flexibility.
He will also offer safety tips and “do’s
and don’ts” appropriate for the average
age in attendance, including injuries and way to avoid
them. He will leave time for questions and answers.
The Mediterranean Dining, which is open to the public
although seating is limited, starts at 5:30 PM, in the
Brew Barry Conference Center at BMH.
Reservations must be made by the Friday before the
dinner, May 2nd, by calling the Cardio/Pulmonary Department
at (802) 257-8331. Please be sure to specify if you
wish to make your reservation for the vegetarian meal.
The cost for the dinner is $9.95 per person.
