Free Workshop for Managing Chronic Pain Starts May 15

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital will offer a free Chronic Pain Self-Management Program starting Tuesday, May 15.

The Stanford University Patient Education Research Centre developed the six-week program to empower individuals with a primary diagnosis of chronic pain to better manage their condition. Classes meet each Tuesday through June 19 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM in Brew Barry Conference Center 1 at BMH.

The workshops will cover truths and myths about chronic pain and help participants make an action plan. Participants should come wearing comfortable clothing that allows for the practice of gentle movement techniques and exercises. A light dinner will be provided at each session.

Advance registration is available by contacting Wendy Cornwell at 251-8459 or by completing this simple registration form. At least 10 participants are needed to run the class.
