| Women’s
Golf Association Donates to BMH Program

Standing by the sign in photo (l. to r.) are
Cynthia Blood (with Forest Moon);
Timothy J. Ryan, Jr., Tournament Fund Raising Chair;
Judy Manley, Tournament Chair;
and Agnes Mikijaniec, nurse manager of the BMH oncology
department.
The Breast Care Program at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital
was recipient of a $4,500 check from the Brattleboro
Country Club Women’s Golf Association. The group
also donated proceeds to Forest Moon: Celebrating Survivorship,
a program for women with breast cancer. The funds were
raised at this past summer’s BCC Invitational
Golf Tournament, bringing total contributions from the
women’s golf group for area breast cancer programs
to more than $25,000 over the last few years. These
dollars go toward a patient discretionary fund used
to help cancer patients with various expenses that they
may not be able to meet otherwise. These include (but
are not limited to) such items as gas cards for fuel
to get to treatments which can cost upwards of $200-300
a patient these days and to help patients purchase prostheses
and wigs.
