| Nita
Lowery is passionate about Brattleboro Memorial Hospital
and its new building project. As a resident of Thompson
House she has a front row seat, watching the builders
“dance through the air” as they construct
the new Outpatient addition. As she watches the foundation
being poured, the beams going up and the walls being
raised she e-mails her friends and family keeping them
apprised of the progress and raising dollars for BMH.
As a result of Nita’s e-mails, BMH has received
gifts for the building campaign from individuals in
Florida and Texas and a few closer to home. She, like
many of our politicians, has learned the power of the
world-wide web and has become skilled at harnessing
it for those missions/charities in which she believes
strongly. In a recent Letter to the Editor of the Brattleboro
Reformer Nita wrote:
“E-mailing friends, neighbors and relatives
has proven to be a great source of public relations
and the response has been overwhelming. After all,
there is and always will be a part in our lives where
we will need the hospital.
There have been friends of mine who have donated
on my behalf because they realize how important good
medical care is and I’m still reaching out to
other to donate……”
So if you have had a positive experience at BMH, love
one of our physicians/nurses/staff, value community
based health care, or, like Nita, are passionate about
what we are raising philanthropic dollars for (this
year digital mammography) then please e-mail your friends
and family and give them our web address www.bmhvt.org/giving
and ask them to help you in raising dollars for
an institution you value.
