Kelly McCue

Kelly McCue, RN, OCN, CHPN, Comprehensive Breast Care program administrator and nurse navigator for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital’s Department of Oncology recently renewed her credential of Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse through the National Board for the Certification of Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses (NBCHPN).

The NBCHPN exam tests McCue’s competency and expertise in providing pain and symptom management to terminal patients, as well as aiding patients’ families in making educated decisions about end of life care. The NBCHPN is the only organization that offers specialty certification for all levels of the hospice and palliative nursing care team and administrators.  Each certification is valid for a four-year period, at which time the certificant may renew their credential.

McCue joined the staff at BMH in 2009; she has 30 years experience as an oncology nurse. As the breast care navigator for BMH’s oncology department, Kelly coordinates the program that provides diagnostic testing, treatment, post treatment follow-up, and support services to women undergoing benign or malignant breast disease, or who have questions regarding their breast health. She supports women in their physical, psychosocial, and spiritual recovery in an individualized, multi-disciplinary program, and serves as a resource for patients and their families to answer questions, assess specialists, and coordinate additional services.
