BMH Names Bonnie McKellar Vice President of Physician Services and Business Development
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital has appointed Bonnie McKellar as Vice President of Physician Services and Business Development effective October 1.
McKellar will lead and manage operations of BMH Physician Group, a multispecialty group practice consisting of family medicine, internal medicine, pediatric care, ENT, cardiology, OB/GYN and general surgery providers. Under the direction of President and CEO Steven R. Gordon and the Board of Directors, she will be responsible for coordinating the establishment of strategic priorities with regards to practice management, physician recruitment and oversight and business development.
“Bonnie brings a wealth of practice management experience to BMH. We are very pleased to have her as an addition to the team,” says Gordon.
For 12 years, McKellar was with Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she served as a group practice administrator for five years before being promoted to Vice President of Physician Practices in July 2005. During her tenure, she established an Urgent Care Center and four new primary care practices, including a Health and Wellness Center. McKellar also was integral in expanding the institution’s network of primary care providers from 7 to 40 providers, and oversaw the implementation of electronic medical records and the patient-centered medical home model of care.
McKellar also has health care administration experience from serving as a Group Practice Administrator for three years at New London Hospital, a rural community hospital with 25 beds. Prior to that, McKellar spent seven years at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester as a Clinical Department Manager. She holds a graduate certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Administration from Antioch College and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from University of New Hampshire.
