Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) announced lab technician Tammy Stone has been appointed Lead Blood Bank Tech for BMH Laboratory Services.
Tammy came to BMH in 2002 after working at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts. She has worked as a generalist covering all laboratory departments and shifts during that time. Her new duties include overseeing the BMH Blood Bank and serving as a resource for questions related to its operation. She will also serve on the hospital’s Transfusion Committee and act as liaison with the American Red Cross for management and procurement of blood products.
With blood drawing located in the Richards Building, BMH Laboratory Services offers walk-in services for blood work and other lab tests needed by patients of area medical providers. Its hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays and 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon on Saturdays for convenient access with no appointment necessary. BMH Laboratory’s Blood Bank is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and regulated by several agencies including the FDA.
