The Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Birthing Center is offering its next bi-monthly Baby Basics class at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7.
Led by registered nurse Margaret Bonifer, this free class gives expecting moms and their partners the straight skinny on what happens during those first few days with a newborn baby. Pre-registration through the bmhvt.org events calendar page is appreciated.
Also on December 7, the New Moms Network meeting will feature a “Starting Solids” program led by Chris Ellis, RD, covering topics like making your own baby food and the right time to buy organic food for your baby. The New Moms Network is a free program that meets every Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
The BMH Birthing Center will offer a Breastfeeding Basics class at 6:30 p.m. on January 11, 2012. Priscilla Tansley, RN, leads the free session. Partners are encouraged to attend with new moms.
The next Lamaze series runs every Thursday from January 5 to February 9. Lamaze classes are a great way to connect, fill your “tool box” with lots of ideas, and approach birth with confidence.
All events take place in the Brew Barry exercise room of the main hospital facility, located at 17 Belmont Avenue in Brattleboro. Registration can be done through the Events Calendar tab at www.bmhvt.org. For more information, please call 257-8877.
