BMH WEBSITE PORTAL INSTALLATION

Minimum system requirements to view images on the PACS in your office:

  • High speed internet connection (cable, DSL or satellite)
  • Windows XP SP2, Vista or 7 (32 bit versions ONLY – see note below)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Pentium 4 processor or better
  • Internet Explorer 7 or 8 (Internet Explorer 9 does not work for PACS – See note below)

 

Note:  BMH PACS is only accessible using 32 bit operating systems with Internet Explorer 7 or 8.   The PACS client will not install on IE9 or any 64 bit operating system.  Clinical Suite can be accessed using Internet Explorer 8 or 9 (IE7 is no longer officially supported but should work.)   Other browsers (FireFox, Chrome, Opera, etc) are not supported at all. 

 

These screenshots are from Windows XP.  The screens may vary in the different versions of Windows.

 

You must have Administrator or Power User rights for this initial installation.

 

WINDOW XP SERVICE PACK 2 USERS: You must install this patch first in order for PACS to work:  http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=884020.  This will require you to reboot your computer.

  

Add https://portal.bmhvt.org to Trusted Sites:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Select Tools – Internet Options
  • Click the Security tab
  • Select “Trusted Sites” (green check mark) then click “Sites..”
  • Enter https://portal.bmhvt.org then click Add
  • OK twice to exit

 

Start the BMH Portal:

 

Type the following URL into the web browser:

 

https://portal.bmhvt.org

 

 

 

Login with your username and password.

 

The first time you login, the Secure Application Manager will install.  This is required for PACS.

 

 

Click Yes to install

 

 

 

 

Click Yes to reboot.  Make sure all other applications are saved and closed.

 

Once you reboot, log in to the portal again.  The first time you login you will get a warning:

 

 

Click Always.   You will now be at the menu page.

 

If you have the iSite Enterprise bookmark, click it now (this requires Administrator or Power User rights for the initial installation.)

 

 

 

The install screen will display.   If the File Download box doesn’t display automatically,  click the Download button.  

 

 

Click the Run button

 

 

Click Run again to start the installation

 

 

This can take up to 15 minutes depending on your Internet speed.  Once the installer closes, click the “click here” link in the center of the iSite Enterprise Installation page

 

You should now see the iSite Enterprise log in page.

 

 

Done.

 

Troubleshooting:

 

The following will do a complete install of the Juniper Secure Application Manager.  Some computers are exhibiting excessive CPU usage when accessing the PACS system.  This will require logging in as a user with administrator rights on the PC.

 

  • Download the samclean.exe utility and Juniper Installer Service to your desktop:
  • Run the samclean.exe utility. It will reboot your computer when finished.
  • After rebooting, run the JuniperInstallerService.exe. 
  • Login to https://portal.bmhvt.org and follow the installation instructions above.

 

To reinstall the iSite ActiveX control:

  • Logon to the computer as Administrator
  • Close all Internet Explorer windows
  • Browse to “C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files” and delete the iSite Active X control.
  • The next time you login to the PACS system it will automatically reinstall.  This can take up to 15 minutes to download and install.
  • The installer can also be downloaded and run directly. This will make installing on multiple machines easier.

 

Occasionally it might be necessary to

  • delete cookies and temporary files in Internet Explorer/Tools/General/Browsing history
  • delete cookies on the Portal in Preferences/Advanced/Delete Cookies
