Admitting – What to bring

Please bring with you a current copy of your insurance card. This allows us to complete insurance information which will speed up handling of your hospital bill, and will avoid errors and confusion. It is important for us to know all the medications you are taking. Please bring a current list of all medicines, even over-the-counter medicines, herbals, and supplements. (A form to record this is available clicking here). We provide cotton nightgowns. Hospital gowns are specifically designed to aid in the placement of IV lines and monitors, and to allow us to complete medical procedures. However, you may bring your own. We also give you a personal kit containing a wash basin, soap and soap dish, and lotion. Toothpaste and brush, bath powder, shampoo, comb, and additional body lotion are available at your request.

We also suggest you only bring items such as:

  • Toilet articles,
  • Eyeglasses/protective containers,
  • Contact lenses and case,
  • Dentures w/case
  • Robe/slippers

Please don’t bring…

  • Large sums of money
  • Jewelry or other valuables
  • Any plug-in electrical devices (battery operated radios or shavers are fine)

We cannot guarantee total security for your valuables. If you do have a valuable item with you, please ask an admitting officer or a nurse to put it in the hospital safe.
