Once again, the Touch A Truck event was graced with a beautiful fall day. Over 800 children came out with parents and grandparent in tow, to explore more than 40 vehicles including a limousine, ice cream truck, motorcycles, pellet truck, fire trucks, semi trucks and many more. While Tropical Storm Irene prevented a number of vehicles from participating, the addition of the Price Chopper bounce house, Home Depot crafts, face painting, and “hands on” excavator operating meant there was more than enough for all. Thank you to everyone at BMH who helped make it possible—from volunteering at the event, to parking in designated locations, to helping with set up and breakdown. This event brings the community to the hospital and helps build strong and positive community involvement. More than $28,000 was raised to benefit the programs and services of BMH.
