What is Physical Therapy?
A personal wellness plan tailored for you…
Your physical therapist will examine you and develop a plan of care using a variety of treatment techniques that help you move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Your physical therapist can also help you prevent loss of mobility and motion by developing a fitness- and wellness-oriented program tailored to your specific needs.
Your partner in health…
A physical therapist is your partner throughout your journey to restoring and maintaining motion so that you can function at your personal best.

Physical Therapy at BMH
Referrals for physical therapy may be for a specific body part or for something as generalized as weakness or trouble with balance. Your physical therapist will exam you and then develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to you. Treatment options include therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, ultrasound, electric stimulation, biofeedback, endurance training, taping and more. Although you can make an appointment to see a PT directly in the State of Vermont we encourage patients to get a referral from their physician as this often helps in getting insurance coverage for the visit and allows the therapist to contact the physician should they have any concerns.
