Cardiac Services – Getting to the heart of the matter!
Cardiology at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital encompasses a range of services from diagnosis to rehabilitation. Each year approximately 4500 tests are performed providing valuable information to aid in diagnosing heart disease of patients in our community. State-of-the-art diagnostic instruments are used by BMH cardiologists in consultation with BMH family practitioners and internists. All stress tests are directly supervised by cardiologists Burton Tepfer, MD or Michael Cohan, DO.

Cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive 12-week outpatient program of risk factor modification, education, and exercise specially designed for people recovering from heart attacks, heart surgery, angioplasty, having stents put in place, or continued angina symptom. Cardiologists Michael Cohan, DO, and Burton Tepfer, MD, offer their expertise to heart patients by diagnosing the problem and then prescribing the treatment which can range from medication, exercise, dietary changes to cardiac catheterizations. Patients needing cardiac catheterizations are referred by Drs. Cohan and Tepfer to our tertiary medical center, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for those procedures.
