PATIENTS - PLEASE NOTE:
Before going to the Lab on the Basement level, you must
stop by Patient Registration / Admitting (on the main
floor of the hospital. That office is the 1st door to
the left off the front lobby. Once registered, you may
proceed to the Lab one floor down.
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) Laboratory is a
full service laboratory that provides accurate and timely
laboratory, diagnostic, therapeutic services. We not
only service the hospital but also offer laboratory
services to nursing homes, physician offices, clinics,
schools, and other facilities.
Our mission is to treat patients and colleagues with
respect, care and compassion. We will safeguard all
patient information as confidential and will perform
all testing in a reliable, accurate and timely manner.
BMH laboratory is accredited by the College of American
Pathologists and is registered by CLIA 88 (Clinical
Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988). We believe
that a strong quality assurance program is vital and
having qualified staff is a crucial element. We are
staffed with board certified pathologists, medical technologists
and medical laboratory technicians. Personnel are required
to participate in on-going education and assessment
of competency.
HOURS OF OPERATION / TELEPHONE NUMBERS
The laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. However we are fully staffed for outpatients
and routine testing Monday through Friday from 7:00
AM to 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
Appointments are not necessary when coming in for laboratory
testing during routine hours. However, please remember
to stop by Patient Registration / Admitting to register
for your test.
If patients come during off-hours they may have longer
periods of waiting due to reduced staff, and the laboratory
should be notified in advance.
