Patient Information

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) focuses on providing people in our community with a complete continuum of care. That means we’re here to coordinate your care from prevention to treatment to discharge, ensuring your care is effective, organized, and cost-efficient.

We are here to handle the various aspects of your care so you don’t have to manage them on your own. We will:

  • Schedule appointments that are convenient for you.
  • Help you navigate the insurance coverage process.
  • Assist you and your family to ensure your stay at BMH as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Admitting

  • Please bring a current copy of your insurance card. This allows us to complete insurance information, which will speed up handling of your hospital bill and avoid errors and confusion.
  • Please bring a current list of all medications you are taking. This includes over-the-counter medicines, herbal remedies, and supplements. (A form to record this is available clicking here).
  • We provide cotton nightgowns, which are specifically designed to aid in the placement of IV lines and monitors, and to allow us to complete medical procedures. However, you may bring your own.
  • We will provide you with a personal kit containing a wash basin, soap and soap dish. Lotion will be provided to you as well. Toothpaste and brush, bath powder, shampoo, comb, and additional body lotion are available upon request.

We cannot guarantee total security for your valuables. If you have a valuable item with you, please ask an admitting officer or a nurse to put it in the hospital safe.
