Current Clinical Opportunities:

Hospitalist:

BMH is currently seeking a full-time day hospitalist physician to join our established hospitalist group. The role includes diagnosing, treating, and coordinating care for patients during their hospital stay, working closely with ED, specialists, nurses, care managers, and support staff to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. The candidate should have excellent clinical judgment and diagnostic skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based and high-quality care.

Specialty backup includes surgeons to perform central line insertions, respiratory therapists, emergency medicine physicians and CRNAs. Day time hospitalist manages hospitalist service together with APRN. No procedures required. Brattleboro Memorial Hospital will consider J1-Visa candidates.

Cardiologist:

BMH’s Center for Cardiovascular Health is currently seeking a noninvasive cardiologist to join its team in a primarily outpatient setting, replacing a retiring physician. The practice includes one physician and two Advanced Practice Providers and focuses on comprehensive, noninvasive cardiac care. Responsibilities include general cardiology clinic, EKG interpretation, ambulatory monitoring, and transthoracic echocardiography, with potential for nuclear stress testing and stress echo. Device management experience is a plus. The practice benefits from strong relationships with referral centers, with limited inpatient and emergency department coverage. No night or weekend call is required.

 

General Surgeon:

Brattleboro General Surgery is currently seeking a full‑time general surgeon to join its established surgical team. This role provides comprehensive surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, serving a broad range of community needs. The General Surgeon delivers expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of common and complex surgical conditions, with a strong emphasis on patient‑centered, high‑quality care.

The general surgeon works collaboratively with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physician assistants, perioperative and peri‑anesthesia teams, emergency department clinicians, hospitalists, and the Wound Clinic to ensure coordinated and effective care.

Clinical responsibilities include procedures such as hernia repair, cholecystectomy, endoscopy, appendectomy, colorectal surgery, management of small bowel obstruction, and skin and soft tissue procedures. The general surgeon also plays an integral role in the multidisciplinary Wound Clinic, providing evaluation and management of acute and chronic wounds.

Urologist:

BMH Urology is currently seeking a staff MD (urology generalist) to join its team. BMH Urology is an office-based practice that focuses on providing general and surgical urological care for male and female patients of all ages, including adults and children–no trauma cases or robotic surgeries. Orthopaedic Surgeon:

BMH Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is currently seeking an orthopaedic surgeon to join its well-established, highly regarded, hospital-based practice, which includes three orthopaedic surgeons and four physician assistants. Candidate should be prepared to perform general orthopaedics. BMH utilizes MAKO robotic technology and we have brand-new onsite operating rooms with dedicated orthopaedic block time.

OBGYN Physician:

Four Seasons OBGYN & Midwifery is currently seeking a full-time OBGYN physician to join the team. Four Seasons is a highly regarded practice within Brattleboro Memorial Hospital that has been serving the community for more than 20 years. The team includes 3 OBGYN physicians, 5 certified nurse midwives and one nurse practitioner. BMH’s Birthing Center handles approximately 240 births per year, including VBACs.  Our midwives and our nurse practitioner provide most of the routine OB and well woman/person care.

Medical Director, Primary Care:

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) is seeking an energetic clinician to serve as medical director within our primary care team, which is part of a 50-provider, hospital-employed, multi-specialty outpatient practice. Primary care is recognized as the foundation of the BMH Healthcare System, and the BMH Medical Group is committed to fostering a supportive, team-based model that delivers high-quality, patient- and family-centered care while advancing community and population health.

This leadership-focused clinical role includes direct patient care, ensuring continued clinical engagement and a firsthand understanding of patient and provider needs. In addition to clinical practice, the medical director will provide medical oversight and clinical direction across four primary care sites, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. Responsibilities include developing and implementing clinical protocols and best practices, mentoring clinicians, and leading quality improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing patient outcomes.
