Do you remember as a child being fascinated by trucks? Have you watched your grandchildren sit mesmerized watching as a dump truck raises its bed and the tailgate opens and dumps its contents? Have you had to stop your car so your son or daughter could see the tree trimmer or road grader? Well, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is once again hosting Touch a Truck.
Saturday, September 12 more than 50 trucks will be converging in the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital parking lot (17 Belmont Avenue, Brattleboro, VT) to provide an opportunity for kids to “touch a truck” and raise funds for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
Whether it is a fire truck, ambulance, dump truck, garbage truck, tree trimmer, paver, steamroller, tow truck or farm truck, they will all be at BMH from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A few non-trucks will also be present–motorcycles, a police cruiser and other eye-widening vehicles. For $5 ($15 for families of three or more), children ages 2-12 can climb on or in the trucks, talk to the drivers and get their pictures taken.
The entire event is horn/siren free this year and the first 200 children will receive a free toy truck.
