Each quarter, the BMH Board of Directors provides the public with an opportunity to comment on matters relating to BMH’s operations. These public sessions will be scheduled for 15 minutes prior to the start of the Board meeting. NOTE: Meetings of the BMH Board typically start at noon; therefore, public sessions typically start at 11:45 am.

The 2025 schedule of BMH public sessions is as follows (and is also subject to change):

  • Tuesday, January 14, 2025
  • Tuesday, April 8, 2025
  • Tuesday, July 8, 2025
  • Tuesday, October 14, 2025

Attendance Guidelines for BMH Public Sessions Board Meetings

Under Vermont’s Open Meeting Law, members of the public have the right to attend public sessions, including those of a hospital board if it qualifies as a public body.

The following guidelines outline what is permitted and how attendance and participation is managed.

  • Public Sessions: The public sessions are open to the public unless a specific exemption
  • Participation: Members of the public are allowed to attend and, in as scheduled, participate during designated public sessions.
  • Hybrid Access: BMH offers remote access to ensure broader participation as

Time Management: The Public Session is 15 minutes.  If multiple parties bring items to the public session, then specific time allocations will be administered.

  • Public sessions require participants to sign up in advance and to state the nature of their need for a public session.
  • Maintain Order: The public session must remain orderly and focused on the agenda.

Each trustee provides professional expertise pertinent to the governing of a community non-profit organization. Board members serve without compensation.
