BMH Serves A Vibrant Community
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital has been serving Brattleboro, VT and the surrounding areas for over 100 years. Brattleboro is a progressive arts community nestled in the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont, and has been named one of Fodor’s 10 Best Small Towns.
Our vibrant downtown is active and family-oriented, with coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and bookstores lining the streets and sidewalks. The bounty of our farmers and local artisans is available throughout the year at both indoor and outdoor farmers markets as well as at our local food co-op. There are monthly celebrations, annual festivals and parades, year-long theater and circus for adults and children alike, and a thriving arts scene to explore. Brattleboro boasts a 1930s movie palace, several venues for live music, and a renowned literary festival.
One of the main draws of our region is the beautiful landscape of Vermont’s Green Mountains. In addition to active conservation and education efforts, the area is famous for its natural beauty. Outdoor activities are popular, and there are many options for hiking, cross country and downhill skiing, golfing, biking, swimming, and boating. We even have our own annual ski jump competition!
Brattleboro has a wonderful selection of housing, ranging from modern downtown apartments to rustic 1700s farmhouses. Our area has a newly renovated public library, and also boasts excellent options for both public and private schools for all ages. Not only are we close to the educational and cultural opportunities of towns like Hanover, NH and Northampton, MA, we are also within easy driving distance of New York City, Albany, Burlington, Hartford, and Boston.
We look forward to welcoming you to our hospital and to our community!
